With extensive expertise and monograms in both API 6D and API 6A standards, Guide Valve has developed the Hybrid Transition Valve (HTV) to seamlessly connect wellhead API 6A components with traditional API 6D pipeline products in a single unit. The GVS HTV eliminates the need for spool pieces, additional fittings, and connection points—reducing weight, space, and potential leak paths. Standard with fire-safe and fugitive emission certifications, NACE compliance, and a SIL 3 safety rating, the GVS HTV ensures reliability in the most demanding oil & gas applications.

Applications of the GVS Hybrid Transition Valve in Oil & Gas

Wellhead to Pipeline Transitions

Installed at the interface where API 6A wellhead equipment connects to API 6D gathering or transmission pipelines. Eliminates the need for transition spool pieces, reducing leak paths and simplifying design.

High-Pressure Tie-Ins (HPHT Environments)

Suitable for high-pressure oil & gas wells (up to Class 2500). Used when transitioning from wellhead Xmas trees into high-pressure trunk lines, ensuring safety and compliance.

Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD)

Serves as an integrated isolation valve in wellpad and gathering systems. SIL 3 certification makes it suitable for safety instrumented systems where reliability is mandatory.

Offshore Platforms

Used on offshore wellhead decks, where compact design and fewer connection points are critical. Ideal for space-constrained topside modules where both high-pressure wellhead equipment and export pipeline connections must be integrated.

FPSOs (Floating Production Storage & Offloading Units)

Critical in FPSO layouts where well fluids are routed through API 6A production systems into API 6D export lines. Reduces weight and welded interfaces offshore.

Gas Processing Plants & Separation Facilities

Placed between API 6A production manifolds and API 6D process or export piping systems. Provides reliable shutoff while meeting both well control and pipeline specifications.

Onshore Oil & Gas Gathering Systems

Used where multiple wells flow into a gathering header — connecting API 6A wellhead manifolds into API 6D gathering and transmission lines. Reduces the need for multiple fittings and potential leak points in desert or remote environments.
